The Risk Management Office administers the Property and Casualty Insurance program for the California Institute of Technology and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (Liability only) including insurance information, property and liability claims assistance, and risk advisory service.
Caltech's Mission - The mission of the California Institute of Technology is to expand human knowledge and benefit society through research integrated with education. We investigate the most challenging, fundamental problems in science and technology in a singularly collegial, interdisciplinary atmosphere, while educating outstanding students to become creative members of society.
Risk Management Mission - The California Institute of Technology (Institute) makes every reasonable effort to protect the health and safety of members of the community and the public from any hazards incidental to operations of the Institute. We endeavor to preserve and protect the Institute's resources against losses arising from any occurrence while enabling the Institute to fulfill its Mission. In order to carry out the Mission objectives, we consider several types of risks, including natural risks, environmental risks, political risks, compliance risks, operational risks, economic risks, business risks, social risks and technological risks.
